First Smart Classroom in Chandpur by Chinese Embassy

Day News(Desk) :  The Chinese Embassy has launched a project to develop the talent of young people in Bangladesh. In the first phase of this project, the embassy has handed over a smart classroom equipped with the latest smart learning materials from leading technology firm Huawei to the school authorities.

As the first step of the initiative, the Chandpur Government Technical School and College located at Sholghar, Chandpur has been provided with advanced technology education equipment, which will enable the teachers and students of the institution to have advanced onsite and online education programs.

On this occasion, an opening ceremony was organized in the educational institution, where the Minister of Education was present as the chief guest. Deepu Moni. Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Bangladesh (His Excellency) Yao Wen was the special guest. Besides, Pan Junfeng, Chief Executive Officer of Huawei South Asia, Md. Mahbubur Rahman, Acting Principal of Chandpur Government Technical School and College, and senior officials of all related institutions were present in the event.

Minister of Education Dr. Dipu Moni said, “I applaud the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China and Huawei South Asia for taking this forward-looking initiative in Bangladesh. The use of advanced technology in smart classrooms will enrich the learning experience of our students; Will develop important ICT skills among them. I believe, this project will help students to take Bangladesh to unique heights”.

Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Bangladesh (His Excellency) Yao Wen said, “As a good friend and good neighbor of Bangladesh, the government and people of China have considered the education sector as one of the main areas of bilateral cooperation. Moreover, China is one of the top study destinations for Bangladeshi students. A total of more than 14 thousand Bangladeshi students are studying in China.

Since 2018, the Chinese Embassy has been conducting higher vocational education programs with the Ministry of Education of Bangladesh. In the future, we will create better educational opportunities for Bangladeshi students, which will further strengthen the relationship between the two countries. Besides, Chinese companies like Huawei have been diligently carrying out various corporate social responsibilities (CSR) in the country for the welfare and social development of the people of Bangladesh.

The establishment of this smart classroom is a reflection of the cooperative relationship between Bangladesh and China and Huawei’s commitment to expand development activities in Bangladesh.”

Huawei South Asia CEO Pan Junfeng said, “The China-Bangladesh Friendship Donation Project has the potential to revolutionize the education sector in Bangladesh. A smart classroom is an approach that uses technology to enhance the learning experience of students.

The smart school system will make the learning process more interesting as well as help develop important ICT skills among students from an early age. The project will help the students to become competent and confident, as a result they will lead Bangladesh to a better position in the future. Huawei is very proud to be a partner in the project”.

Chandpur Government  Technical School &  College has donated a complete smart classroom solution including two idea hubs (Huawei interactive whiteboards), full classroom WiFi facilities and ICT course related materials, such as – videos, online courses and an online learning platform with educational content – ​​in Bangladesh. the embassy Huawei has provided tabs to teachers and revamped classrooms.
